What is SEND and Emotional Literacy?

The Cheam Coterie want to start a conversation about SEND in our community and so need feedback from you!

SEND stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities - perhaps you've heard of Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Sensory Processing Disorder?

In supporting these children and their families - Emotional Literacy is often goes hand in hand. Emotional Literacy is a key thing for ALL children and is the ability to recognise, name and express feelings.

Does your child know when they're sad? Can they express it? How do you support your child when they're frustrated or sad but can't quite express it? How can your child learn to express their feelings rather than hitting? Friday 1 July 1-3pm at St Dunstan's Church Hall To bring it all together we are having a session next week with a local author, Violet, who has years of experience in supporting young children deal with their emotions and she's going to talk us through a book she's written to help this process as well as give us some tips! There will also be time for a general discussion and to meet others.

Also please complete this survey and share to those who can't make it. https://forms.gle/AsWYJKY85kkhYoq97

Everyone is welcome - so please do come along!
