At 10.55am on a usual Remembrance Sunday in Cheam, several hundred people, including representatives from the Royal British Legion, the Scouts, and the Guides, gather around our community's War Memorial on Malden Road for an Act of Remembrance. This has normally been followed by a Remembrance Service in St Dunstan's Church.
Sadly, we will not be able to gather at the War Memorial this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This decision has been made jointly by Cheam Parish and our friends at the Royal British Legion. The new lockdown also means that our churches are closed for public worship. This means that we are no longer able to offer Acts of Remembrance in our buildings as planned.
This certainly does not, however, mean that Remembrance Sunday will not be marked in our community. An Act of Remembrance will be live-streamed on YouTube from St Dunstan's at 10.55am on Sunday morning. The order of service can be found here. Please do join with us and other members of the community at this time.
