Our first post Covid Messy Church - and more to come in May and June!

Thank you to everyone who helped with our first post Covid Messy Church. This was a group effort, building on the work of all of the Messy Church services that have been run in the past at different churches across our parishes.

While still being mindful of Covid we welcomed around 60 people to our Messy Church and had great fun with 9 different activities, a celebration all together that included a song, a story and prayer, and we ate together. We explored the theme of church and in our celebration together after making all of the different craft activities we explored the story of the early church and how today we still join together to worship God around the world.

This service was a great success and we have dates in May and June to have two more Messy Church services - one at Christchurch with St Philip and the other at St Oswalds again. We are meeting on Thursday evening to plan these services - anyone is welcome to come and help us plan and if you would like to be involved in anyway and are not already getting my regular emails do be in touch. We would appreciate everyone’s prayers as we plan and make arrangements.

Messy Church has already been a great example of how we can work together across our churches and achieve something special. For me one of the highlights of the day was seeing new friendships form among the volunteers from the different churches as they worked together. I look forward to seeing how these bonds continue to grow as we move forward and what new things might come out of them.
