Messy Church

Since I last wrote about Messy Church back in March we have had two more services one in May at Christ Church with St Philip and one last week in St Oswalds.

In May we explored the story of creation making bird feeders, drawing animals, finger painting trees and making stress balls and more.

Last week we were looking at the story of Pentecost and made wind chimes, created a giant poster, made tea lights and superhero arm bands just to name a few of our activities. Each service as well as having a large selection of crafts and activities to do also includes a time of worship and celebration where we hear the story for the day, pray and sing together and then we eat together to end.

Messy Church continues to be a joint project with people from all 5 churches involved in helping to plan prepare and run the sessions. It has been great to see so many families coming along to our Messy Church services and enjoying themselves. We hope to keep going after the summer and we are meeting next week to plan for the future. If you would like to be involved in some way and are not yet part of our Messy Church mailing list do contact Hannah (hannah@cheamparish.org.uk) also if you would like to get up to-date emails with all the upcoming family events happening across the parishes do be in touch.
